Participant Ages 13 and older

In this unique class we will hear a Greek myth about the sea and discuss the messages behind the story.  Then we will create mixed media collage pieces inspired by the story using magazine images, papers and paint.

Addie Hirschten is a contemporary impressionist painter, art teacher, author of several books and host of the Studio Alchemy Podcast. When working as an art instructor, Hirschten enjoys helping others to develop their own style and artistic voice, not just copy the instructor.  While developing curriculum for the art classroom Hirschten wrote the book, “The Alchemy of Art: Stories for the Classroom”, a collection of folktales and true stories about artists.  Other books written by Hirschten include “The Alchemy of Painting: Developing Your Style and Purpose”, “Start Selling Your Art: A Guide to Starting a Professional Art Business” and “The Alchemy of Symbols”.  Find out more at: www.studioalchemy.art
